Jones: We should have got all three points at Leeds

Dave Jones reflected on two defensive errors as Wednesday slumped to defeat at Elland Road today.

A headed double from Luke Varney on 63 and 69 minutes sunk the Owls after we had led from a first-half Jermaine Johnson goal, leaving Jones saying: “We should have won. We switched off for 15 minutes and allowed two goals which we should never have allowed. You can’t give somebody free headers in your box.

“It’s frustrating because they caused us no hassle, apart from a 15-minute period. We had a few injuries and had to change things around – but we made some basic errors.”

Jones said JJ was substituted on 53 minutes with a knee problem and Giles Coke was replaced at half-time through injury, while Reda Johnson was left struggling with a foot problem.
