Jones: Two set pieces separated the sides

Cardiff City

Dave Jones reflected on two set pieces which saw his former club Cardiff leave S6 with another victory in their march towards promotion to the Premier League.

Don Cowie’s shot after Craig Bellamy’s corner was half cleared and the unmarked Matthew Connolly’s header from Peter Whittingham’s free kick separated the sides, leaving Jones to say: “There was nothing in the game apart from the two set pieces and that’s what has done us. Our keeper has barely had a save to make and neither has their keeper – but it was that kind of game.

“We showed our naivety at times and it is really frustrating because we have come a long way in a short space of time.”
