Jones looks to extend Helan loan deal

Dave Jones will be hoping to extend young defender Jeremy Helan’s loan spell at Hillsborough.

Helan marked the final game of his current loan by scoring an excellent individual goal against Charlton on Saturday and Jones confirmed after the game that he would like to keep the Manchester City man at S6 for a longer period.

Jones was full of praise for Helan, who played in a midfield role to give protection to the returning Reda Johnson at left back, and will be speaking with Milan Mandaric about trying to secure another loan deal for the youngster.

He also has to decide whether he wants to try to extend the loan of Stoke striker Mamady Sidibe after his injury-hit month with Wednesday.

Meanwhile, David Prutton should be fit for the upcoming Christmas programme after a second-half clash in the Charlton game which saw him having stitches in a cut on the bridge of his nose.
