Jones hopes pair will be back in squad at Elland Road

Reda Johnson and Lewis Buxton could both be back in the Wednesday squad for Saturday’s televised Yorshire derby at Leeds.

The pair featured in a ‘closed doors’ friendly with Notts County this week, Johnson playing 45 minutes following his tendonitis problem and Buxton having an hour’s runout after suffering from shin splints.

Dave Jones said today: “We’ll see how they are tomorrow and hopefully at least include them in the squad for the Leeds game.”

Giles Coke will definitely be in contention for a return, having recovered from the gall bladder problem that ruled him out on the morning of the game against Burnley last Saturday, while Jermaine Johnson serves the second game of his three-match ban.
