Johnson off to West Ham … Holloway set for Millwall …

Wednesday’s Championship survival hopes have been dealt a big blow with the news that Roger Johnson is signing for Premier League West Ham until the end of the season … while potential new manager Ian Holloway is set to take over at fellow relegation strugglers, Millwall.

The 30-year-old’s loan at Hillsborough ran out at the end of last month and he had returned to Wolves – but we were hopeful of securing a new deal for the defender after he had forged a promising centre back partnership with ex-Cardiff team-mate Glenn Loovens at Hillsborough in recent weeks.

However, Johnson has made a surprise move to the Hammers today and he is expected to be named in their squad for Wednesday’s Capital One Cup semi-final against Manchester City.

And Holloway, who has been linked with the Wednesday manager’s job since Dave Jones was sacked, is expected to be named the new boss at Millwall.
