It’s down to last day after defeat at Peterborough

Peterborough United

We face a typical last game of the season survival battle next weekend after Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at Peterborough.

The late kick off meant that, with the results from the earlier games, we only needed a draw at London Road to ensure Championship survival, but Grant McCann’s second-half free kick means we need at least a point next Saturday to ensure we stay in the division.

In a game of limited chances, our best opportunity fell to Leroy Lita after Posh had scored but he blazed wide after his first effort was saved.

That aside, it was a disappointing display from Wednesday and one that ensures yet another nailbiting finish for the fans at home to Middlesbrough next Saturday.
