‘It’s a point gained for us after sending off’

Darren Moore was happy to leave Fratton Park this evening with a point after seeing his Wednesday side reduced to 10 men with 20 minutes still to play.

Reflecting on the goalless draw, Moore said: “To go a man down like that, it is a point gained for us.

“After about 25 minutes we got into the game. I thought it became an even contest but the red card changed it for us after the break.”

Speaking of the red card after Massimo Luongo’s midfield challenge on Ronan Curtis, Moore said: “Massimo had to stretch for the ball, I can understand why it was deemed as dangerous and we accept the red card.”

Moore also had praise for man-of-the-match Bailey Peacock-Farrell, saying: “We feel he is back to his commanding best.”
