‘It was a bad day at the office’

Darren Moore called it ‘a bad day at the office’ after today’s poor performance at Lincoln.

Speaking in the aftermath of the 3-1 defeat, manager Moore said: “The players are disappointed because of the levels and standards they have with one another.

”It was not good enough.

“We got back into the game but there were moments when we just weren’t right with our control, detail and precision. It just wasn’t there.

”It was a bad day at the office.”

He added: “I don’t want to take anything from Lincoln.

“They worked extremely hard and they didn’t allow us to build any momentum in the game.

“We have got to learn from it as there will be one or two more games like that this season.”

He added: “We weren’t our normal selves. We were a little bit off it, whether that is because it’s a three-game week or that we didn’t really have much to change it around, even though we had one or two back today.

“They will get better and stronger but maybe it was a game too far for us.”
