Long-term injury casualties – Kieran Lee, Steven Fletcher and Gary Hooper – are all doubts to make the Wednesday squad for the season opener at Wigan next month.
Manager Jos Luhukay said Lee and Fletcher are making good progress while Hooper is still not 100 per cent fit and added that all three players could struggle to be ready for the Wigan match after lengthy lay-offs.
He also hinted that he would continue to give some of our youngsters the chance to break into the first team.
