Update on Thorniley after Millwall injury

Jordan Thorniley is reported to have escaped with bruising and concussion after the facial injury that saw him stretchered off and immediately taken to hospital at Millwall on Tuesday evening.

The young defender was well enough on Wednesday morning to tweet his thanks to staff of both clubs, to the hospital and to the fans for their ‘get well’ messages. Reports have now followed saying that he appears to have suffered concussion and facial bruising.

Thorniley tweeted on Wednesday morning: ‘Thank you for the messages and also thanks to the staff from both clubs and the hospital for treating me with such care’.

The game was held up for several minutes while Thorniley received treatment on the pitch for the facial injury, after he was seemingly caught accidentally by a Millwall player’s boot, and the Owls club doctor then accompanied him to the hospital.
