Hutchinson comeback ‘ahead of schedule’

Sam Hutchinson is ahead of schedule in his latest injury battle … this time with the knee problem suffered against Watford in October.

Hutchinson had an operation following the injury and the club had talked about a return to action early in the New Year.

Stuart Gray confirmed today that the midfielder’s progress is in front of initial expectations and said he has been doing some running.

Hutchinson is now scheduled to see a specialist next week to get his latest view on the injury and comeback possibilities.

Of our other first-team squad casualties, Kamil Zayatte is expected to be ready to return to action in the next week after being out for more than two months with a hamstring injury, Lewis Buxton is undertaking gentle jogging following his latest setback while Giles Coke’s achilles problem means he is still wearing a medical boot.
