‘Hirsty’ makes scoring debut for England

George Hirst, son of Owls goalscoring legend, David, began his England under-17 career in great style with two goals on his debut against Germany in Portugal today.

He was on the mark in the 17th and 24th minutes and, although Germany came back to earn a draw with two goals late in the second half, Hirst junior made a big impression on his first outing for England at this level.

England face Holland on Tuesday in their final game of the Algarve tournament, having drawn their opener 1-1 against hosts Portugal.
