Helan is only bright spot on Owls ‘sick list’

Jeremy Helan is back in full training and ready to return for the home game with Charlton on Saturday.

Helan has missed the last two games with a groin injury and is likely to replace Joe Mattock at left back, Mattock having suffered a suspected torn groin in training on Thursday which is expected to keep him out for the rest of the season.

Kamil Zayatte is also in contention for a return to the centre of the Owls defence and is expected to come in for Claude Dielna, who is also likely to miss the remaining matches of the campaign after picking up a hamstring injury at Norwich.

Helan’s return aside, Wednesday have more injury problems with Will Keane (ankle) and Jose Semedo (foot) both suffering setbacks in their recovery plans.

Stuart Gray has also confirmed that Glenn Loovens will not figure again this season after fracturing his ankle in training back in February.
