Gray’s half-time words turn game for Owls

Huddersfield Town

Stuart Gray ended up a happy head coach at Huddersfield on Saturday … after voicing his disappointment with Wednesday’s first-half display.

Gray said the players failed to get to grips with Huddersfield’s shape in the opening 45 minutes, meaning the home side were able to get at our back four too easily.

However, Gray’s half-time words, in which he asked the Owls to keep their shape as a team, paid dividends and he said afterwards: “We thoroughly deserved the win in the second half.”

Gray admitted that his decision to make more changes to the side was because he had one eye on Monday’s FA Cup tie with Charlton. Victory took the unbeaten away record to nine games – coinciding with Gray taking over from Dave Jones – and he added: “The most pleasing thing today is that we got another clean sheet.”
