Gray: We’re in confident mood for City tie

Stuart Gray is in an upbeat mood as Wednesday prepare for a return to the Etihad for Sunday’s FA Cup third round tie against Manchester City.

Wednesday were taken apart in the second-half of our League Cup tie in Manchester back in September, conceding seven goals in 45 minutes to the Premier League champions.

However, Gray says the players wull be wanting to get that result out of their systems and will be going into the tie full of confidence after consecutive league wins and without conceding a goal.

He has watched City recently and said: “They have got weaknesses, they have been conceding goals. However, the most important thing is we can go there full of confidence on the back of two good victories.”

Wednesday will be without loanees Lewis McGugan and Royston Drenthe, who have returned to their parent clubs, and Joe Mattock will miss the game after suffering a groin injury at Wigan.
