Gray to meet with Mandaric over manager position

Stuart Gray says he will sit down with Milan Mandaric on Tuesday to decide his future at Hillsborough.

Speaking after the disappointing 1-1 FA Cup draw at Macclesfield, Gray confirmed that he would be having talks with the chairman to discuss how the club moves forward in terms of appointing a new manager.

Mandaric is currently out of the country while Gray can look back on a league record of three wins, two draws and two defeats since taking over as caretaker boss.

Reflecting on the draw with Macclesfield, Gray said: “We started very well and were bossing the game. But we failed to build on it and could have lost the game in the last 10 minutes.”

Like the Wednesday fans, Gray was unhappy with the second-half display, saying we were “slow coming out of the traps” after the interval and allowed Macclesfield to put too many balls into our box, while failing with our final pass at the other end of the pitch.

He added: “The most important thing is that we are still in the hat for the fourth round draw.”
