Gray: The bad, the good and almost a win …

Stuart Gray had mixed feelings after the second-half comeback which earnt Wednesday a share of the spoils against Blackburn.

He said: “We got punished for our mistakes and the first goal was embarrassing.”

Gray added: “We need to defend better because we are defending poorly at the moment.”

With the Owls trailing 3-1 at the interval he said he had told the players that the next 45 minutes could be an enjoyable experience or a very long period, depending on their response, and he credited them afterwards as they had kept going.

Gray added: “I said to them at the interval that there is no hiding place out there, you’ve got to roll your sleeves up.”

He praised Atdhe Nuhiu for his work-rate, which was rewarded with two goals, and said: “I could have been sitting here with three points with those two chances at the end … and Atdhe could have had the match ball.”
