Gray ponders strike options for Fulham trip

Stuart Gray may well consider making a change up front for Saturday’s trip to Fulham.

While Wednesday registered 16 attempts on goal last weekend against Wolves, only two were on target. Stevie May was the main culprit in terms of missing chances, but at least he showed the ability to be in the right place to have the opportunities, while strike partner Atdhe Nuhiu hardly posed a threat before being substituted just after the hour.

Nuhiu has not scored since his goal against Ipswich in September and looks the more likely to stand down. If so, then Jacques Maghoma, who scored twice for the under-21s against Coventry on Tuesday, could get a recall while Caolan Lavery is another option after his return to the squad from a long lay-off.

Gray will also be considering whether to recall Jose Semedo to add more steel to the midfield, the player having to settle for a place on the bench against Wolves following his suspension.
