Anthony Gardner will see a specialist this week to find out the extent of his achilles tendon injury.
Gardner was stretchered off during Saturday’s draw at Middlesbrough after suffering a suspected torn achilles, caused as he landed from an aerial challenge.
Dave Jones confirmed today that Gardner will be seeing a specialist in London later this week to determine how serious the problem might be.
If, as expected, the skipper is sidelined then Reda Johnson is likely to take the captain’s armband.
Jones also said that he was highly unlikely to be making any signings before tonight’s deadline and that any possible transfers would be emergency loan deals when that window reopens next week.
