Further punishment for Forestieri?

Wednesday wait to see if Fernando Forestieri faces any further punishment following a Football Association three-match ban for his part in the mass brawl at the end of the pre-season friendly at Mansfield.

Forestieri, who was also fined £25,000, will miss the home game with Stoke along with the trips to Forest and Villa after admitting a charge of violent conduct … and reports suggest that the FA is still investigating a complaint from Mansfield of alleged racial comments made by the Owls striker towards one of their squad.

The majority of players from both sides were involved in the on-the-pitch fracas at the final whistle, leading to the Owls being fined £30,000 by the FA and Mansfield £3.000, “after both clubs admitted an FA misconduct charge of failing to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion and/or refrained from provocative and/or violent behaviour”.

Mansfield player Jacob Mellis was also banned for three games and fined £1,500 after admitting a misconduct charge relating to the same incident.
