An excellent first-half strike from Fernando Forestieri gave Wednesday a 1-0 friendly win over Portuguese giants Benfica at Hillsborough tonight.
The Owls marksman broke clear inside the penalty area and fired low across the Benfica keeper for the only goal of the game.
The visitors dominated the closing stages with their slick passing movements but Wednesday, with new signing Jake Kean making his debut in goal, held out for victory.
