Forestieri faces three-match ban

Fernando Forestieri faces a three-match ban after being red carded against Preston today.

Forestieri was sent off after an off-the-ball incident involving Preston’s Ben Pearson, with the Owls man seemingly raising his hands in the face of the opponent.

He was shown a ‘straight red’ and Forestieri can now expect a three-game suspension for violent conduct, meaning he would miss next week’s trip to Reading and the home matches with Barnsley and Rotherham.

Wednesday also wait for injury updates on Ross Wallace and Glenn Loovens, who were both substituted in the first half against Preston, and on Will Buckley, who injured his shoulder when fouled by keeper Chris Maxwell for our penalty.
