Forestieri ‘could make squad for Chelsea tie’

Fernando Forestieri could be back in contention for a place in the squad for the FA Cup tie at Chelsea at the end of the month.

Caretaker boss Steve Agnew says while the striker has been training well, they do not want to rush him back into action after suffering his second hamstring problem this season.

However, when asked about the possibility of Forestieri being in the squad for the Stamford Bridge tie, Agnew added: “It’s hard to say at the minute but it’s progressing well and I would expect if he has a good week’s training next week then he should be ok.”

Of other long-term absentees, Agnew said Almen Adbi is likely to figure again for the under-23s in the near future while Gary Hooper is probably about a month away from a return to training.

However, Kieran Lee has suffered another setback with his knee problem.
