Steven Fletcher looks set to return to the matchday squad for Saturday’s home clash with Aston Villa.
Fletcher missed last Saturday’s trip to Stoke with a groin injury sustained against Blackburn before the international break but Steve Bruce says the striker has been training this week and should be fit for selection.
Rolando Aarons is still doubtful after turning his ankle in the warm-up before the Stoke match but the Owls boss, who will be facing the club that sacked him earlier in the season, says Fernando Forestieri, Gary Hooper and Sam Winnall will also be in the squad … the strike trio having returned to action in recent weeks after lengthy injury lay-offs.
