Fernando ‘ready for action against Geordies’

Carlos Carvalhal is ready to give Fernando Forestieri at least a slice of the action against high-flying Newcastle at Hillsborough on Saturday evening.
Forestieiri has been back in full training after his knee injury suffered last month and Carvalhal confirmed on Friday that the striker is likely to play at least a part of the televised clash, as Wednesday look to keep our place in the play-offs.
Carvalhal said: “With Fernando, if everything is ok today he can be involved on Saturday. Let’s see if it’s from the beginning or from the bench.”
We will also go into the early evening kick off knowing how our play-off rivals have fared and that we may be back out of the top six at that stage.
Leeds are three points ahead of us and entertain eighth-placed Preston, who are five points behind the Owls, while Fulham, sitting immediately below us and trailing by two points, entertain Ipswich and know victory would seem them leapfrog us again in the table … for a short time at least.
Gary Rowett’s Derby, who are seven points behind us, go to Rowett’s former club Birmingham. Norwich and Villa are both nine points adrift of Wednesday and in-form Villa go to Burton on Saturday while Norwich entertain fourth-placed Reading, who are seven points above us.
Third-placed Huddersfield, who lead us by eight points and have a game in hand, are at struggling Forest.
