Fair result says Jones after second-half fightback

Ipswich Town

Dave Jones felt a draw against Ipswich was a fair result as the Owls took another point in the fight to stay in the Championship.

The Wednesday boss said: “We didn’t really get going in the first half but bringing on Stevie Howard changed the game for us – we needed a focal point and a target man and we were probably the better team in the second half.”

Commenting on a poor first-half showing, Jones said: “We looked a little lethargic and nervous … and it was a poor goal to give away.”

He added: “If you’re not going to win the game at this stage of the season then you certainly don’t want to lose it. Overall it was probably a fair result because we’ve cleared one off the line and we’ve had a goal disallowed for offside that’s a hairline decision.”
