Evans says he’s staying at Rotherham

Rotherham boss Steve Evans has committed his future to the Millers after being linked with the Wednesday job.

Evans emerged as one of the early favourites to replace Dave Jones, with Wednesday reported to have made an approach to Rotherham to speak to him.

However, Evans said today on the Rotherham website: “I can confirm I was called to a meeting with my chairman Tony Stewart and chief operating officer Paul Douglas earlier this morning. The meeting was primarily to discuss a matter which relates to the recent press speculation over the last 24 hours.

“In that said meeting I reiterated my commitment to Rotherham United FC and the project I started some 18 months ago.”
