First-half goals from Danny Batth and Ben Marshall took Wednesday back up to third place after a 2-0 New Year’s Eve win at Preston.
Batth put us ahead on four minutes and Marshall made it two just before the break as Wednesday totally dominated the first 45 minutes.
Preston came more into the game after the break and Miguel Llera cleared off the line … but there was to be no late heartache this time around and three points takes us back above Huddersfield who were held at home by Carlisle on Friday night.
