Barry Bannan has double reason to celebrate this week … with another Scotland call-up and his 50th Wednesday appearance on the horizon.
Bannan, along with Steven Fletcher, have both been selected by Gordon Strachan for the World Cup qualifier with England at Wembley on November 11.
Meanwhile, he is ready to chalk up that half-century milestone at Hillsborough when we entertain Ipswich on Saturday, just over a year since joining the Owls and playing a major part in our progress to last season’s play-off final.
*Daniel Pudil will also be in World Cup action, having been selected for the Czech Republic squad to host Norway on November 11 and then at home to Denmark in a friendly four days later.
