Difficult decisions to make says Bruce

Steve Bruce says there will be big and difficult decisions to be made at Hillsborough in the coming weeks, with several players out of contract at the end of the season.

Bruce has already said he would like to keep one of those players, Keiren Westwood, but he may also find himself under financial constraints and added:  “We’ve got discussions to be had over the next couple of weeks at boardroom level, which obviously are going to take place for every club in the summer – and there’s big decisions to make at our club.”

Nine players will be out of contract – Liam Palmer, Marco Matias, George Boyd, Daniel Pudil, Gary Hooper, Kieran Lee, David Jones, Almen Abdi and Westwood – and Bruce said: “Over the next two or three weeks there are big decisions to be made on a lot of players.

“A lot of them have been here a lot of years and I’m under no illusions that we have to make some difficult decisions. But that’s football and you move on.”

In addition, Bruce will be giving chairman Dejphon Chansiri his thoughts on the possible S6 futures of loanees Michael Hector, Rolando Aarons, Achraf Lazaar and Josh Onomah.

* Which out-of-contract players would you like to keep … and who would you be happy to see leave S6?
