Cook: It’s flattering to be linked with Wednesday job

Paul Cook has talked about continued reports linking him with the vacant Wednesday manager’s job.

Cook, who was a studio pundit for Sky during their coverage of the Charlton-Accrington game on Friday night, was asked to comment on a story that he had spoken to Wednesday about the job and said: “It is very, very flattering to be linked. I am an out-of-work manager and I am desperate to get back into football.

“You miss the day-to-day of the dressing room, good or bad. The interaction with the players.

“Sheffield Wednesday is a massive football club. It would be a fantastic club for anyone to manage, so while I’m being linked with the job it is obviously very flattering.”

The former Wigan boss has also been listed as bookies favourite for the job.
