Chansiri: I’m putting club up for sale

Dejphon Chansiri wrapped up Wednesday evening’s Fans’ Forum with the shock news that he will put the club up for sale.

Having earlier said that how long he stays at S6 depends on the future reactions of the fans, the Owls chairman ended the meeting by saying: “I will put this club on the market. I believe many people want to buy. Whoever wants to buy me offers for a good price. I feel I am not good enough. While I’m here I will do my best.”

Mr Chansiri told the fans at the forum: “Thank you for everyone who came tonight and letting me be part of the swfc family. One day you will have a new owner but while I am your chairman I will do my very best and never do anything to damage this wonderful club.”

The chairman, who clearly has major concerns about our Financial Fair Play (FFP) problems, said: “You don’t know how tired I am. I don’t sleep. I need to think how to solve FFP. I feel many want me to leave. I can’t do it by myself. I will do my best while I’m still here.”

He said he doesn’t want supporters to praise him: “Some fans say to me I have done good. I say ‘no not good enough or we would be in the PL’.”

Earlier in the meeting, Mr Chansiri said the reaction of fans would decide on how long he remains at the club.

He said he would stay as long as he is happy and explained: “I don’t know how long I’m going to stay here. It depends on the fans. If I don’t feel happy, even if I make profit, I’m not going to be here.”

When asked by a fan what is his five-year plan, the chairman said: “For myself, I don’t know. It depends. I love this club. I give everything to this club but I’m very tired.

“Some want to go with us when we are doing good but when we are bad, I’m by myself.”

He added: “I’m in my country and I have a good life. My business has a lot of profit. I don’t have profit here.

“I lose a lot of money here and some people still slate me. Actually, you should thank me. I try to do the best I can for this club.”

The chairman continued: “I’m also a human being. I’m not a machine … I try to improve this club as much as I can. I try to make it strong and put foundations in the future.

“I try my best. Whatever happens with me, I love this club. It is not going to be worse than before my time. Don’t worry.”
