’Change of system helped turn game’

Jos Luhukay pointed to a half-time change of formation as a factor in Wednesday’s 2-0 Carabao Cup win at Sunderland.

We led through Marco Matias’ goal at the break but the home side had looked the more dangerous side for much of the opening half.

Luhukay said Sunderland had caused us problems in the first 45 minutes and changed the system from 3-5-2 to 4-3-3 at the interval.

He added: “We then had more control and I think the team did a good job in the second half. We were better defensively.”
