Chance to get back into play-off places

Wednesday go into this evening’s home game with Accrington looking to move back into the division one play-off places.

Saturday’s 6-0 thrashing of Cambridge sees us in seventh on 64 points from 36 games, one point adrift of the top six and with games in hand on some of our rivals.

Victory tonight would be a fourth successive win at S6 and guarantee us returning to the top six, taking us to within a point of current fourth-placed Oxford (68 points from 38 games), also still with a game in hand on them after tonight.

The two sides immediately above and below us are also in action this evening, sixth-placed Plymouth (65 points from 36 games) are at home to Portsmouth while Wycombe in eighth (62 from 37) entertain Fleetwood.

Darren Moore indicated after the Cambridge win that he is likely to name the same squad for this evening and warned to expect a tough game against a mid-table Accrington side.

Fifth-placed Sunderland (66 from 38) are not in midweek action while leaders Rotherham host Lincoln and second-placed Wigan are at Crewe.
