New head coach Carlos Carvalhal has spoken of his excitement at coming to Hillsborough.
Carvalhal, whose appointment was finally confirmed late last night, told the club website: “To come to England and to a club like Sheffield Wednesday is amazing. I’m excited and want to win the trust of our massive fans.”
He added: “Let’s do a fantastic season with positive football and let’s enjoy our time together.”
Joining Carvalhal at S6 will be his backroom team of Joao Mario, Joao Cunha and Bruno Lage.
The new head coach wias due to meet the players today when they report ed back for pre-season training.
Meanwhile, reports indicate that Mark Cooper, tipped to join Carvalhal at Hillsborough, has decided to stay at Swindon.
