Carlos Carvalhal has confirmed that Fernando Forestieri refused to travel to Norwich for this evening’s game at Norwich.
Carvalhal said the player had asked not to take part in the Championship opener against Villa but that he had convinced him to do so.
However, he told the head coach this week that he did not want to travel to Norwich and, in effect, has refused to play.
The striker has been linked with a move to Derby or Newcastle and Carvalhal, speaking on Sky Sports, was clearly angered if another club has made a direct approach to the player when he is contracted to Wednesday.
