Carlos Carvalhal felt Wednesday deserved all three points after Cardiff’s added time equaliser ended hopes of a third successive win in the cruellest way.
He said afterwards: “I’m disappointed we didn’t get the win. My players deserved three points.
“The performance was great today. It’s why I am a little disappointed with the score.”
He added: “In the first half we played really very well, we silenced the stadium and played good football, it was a performance of high quality.
“In the second half, we played the same way, but we also defended very well when Cardiff started to put more balls into our box.”
Reflecting on the late equaliser, the head coach said Wednesday had also scored several times in the final minutes of games last season: “This is just something that happens in football.”
