Carlos rules out Bannan for Rovers clash

Barry Bannan has failed in his bid to return to action at Blackburn tomorrow.

The midfielder has been back in training, following the knee injury sustained at Charlton earlier this month, but Carlos Carvalhal says Bannan won’t be ready for the Ewood Park clash.

The head coach also said that one or two other players had suffered minor knocks this week and hinted that this might signal a further change or two from last Saturday’s starting line-up.

Carvalhal added that playing Blackburn, under new boss Paul Lambert, will be like a typical Championship game, saying: “When we go to a party, we go to a saloon, we put on very nice clothes to go dancing. Tomorrow we will be dancing in a different environment so must put on our work clothes.

“We must play like gladiators and it will be a very difficult game.”
