Carlos eyes signing to replace injured Lee

Carlos Carvalhal is considering a move into the January transfer market to find a replacement for long-term injury casualty Kieran Lee.

Lee has had surgery on his on-going hip problem and Carvalhal says that the midfield playmaker could be out for the rest of the season. He returned to the starting line-up for the New Year’s Day game with Wolves but was forced off at half-time.

Carvalhal indicated after the match that Lee could face a lengthy lay-off, adding that Wednesday may well move into the market for a replacement, and he reiterated this possible transfer activity when speaking at Friday’s press conference.

In terms of players who Carvalhal might target, Forest’s Henri Lansbury is a possibility Wednesday, along with Brentford’s Alan Judge, who is now almost fully fit again after suffering a broken leg last season.
