Caolan back in action as Owls grab win

Caolan Lavery came through 70 minutes without any ill-effects in his return to action in the under-21s’ 1-0 win over Middlesbrough at Middlewood Road this afternoon.

Lavery was making his comeback following a serious knee injury in pre-season at Doncaster while loanee Royston Drenthe played for 72 minutes, after being suspended for our last game at home to Rotherham.

Young defender Shane O’Neill, on trial from US side Colorado Rapids, was on the field for the full 90 minutes, along with keeper Cameron Dawson who has been recalled from his loan spell with Alfreton following the injury to Joe Wildsmith.

Rafa Floro grabbed the only goal against Boro in the last minute, with a fine finish to end an excellent move.
