Bully for Lee as three-goal Owls celebrate

Lee Bullen took the plaudits from the Wednesday fans after an emphatic 3-0 win at Forest in his first game in caretaker charge.

Bullen named an attacking side following the departure of Carlos Carvalhal on Christmas Eve and was rewarded with our first victory in eight games.

Adam Reach fired us in front after just five minutes with a cracking effort from the edge of the box, Joe Wildsmith then distinguished himself with a series of saves as Forest pushed forward before we grabbed a second from the penalty spot on half-time.

Morgan Fox was fouled from a corner and Jordan Rhodes stepped up to slot home the resulting spot kick.

The home side posed few threats in the second half and Lucas Joao, who had earlier hit the woodwork, completed the victory with an excellent finish on 65 minutes after a quickfire break from Reach.

Wednesday registered eight shots on target in the game – having posted just five in four matches during November – and the win leaves us 11 points off the play-offs and the same number from the relegation places.
