Steve Bruce has spoken of the challenge of thinning out Wednesday’s first team squad in the coming months.
The new boss, who has already talked of having too many strikers, said he took 20 players to Ipswich last weekend and had to leave another seven behind, with three more players on the injury list.
Ahead of Saturday’s home game with Reading, Bruce said: “I think the big problem any manager would face here is that the squad is too big, so it is something which we will try to address.”
