Bothroyd ruled out of ‘six-pointer’

Jay Bothroyd is still sidelined with an ankle injury and misses tomorrow’s bottom three battle with Bristol City at Hillsborough.

Fellow striker Mamady Sidibe is also doubtful with a hamstring problem and, if he fails a late test, then Dave Jones could go with the pairing of Gary Madine and Chris O’Grady up front.

City sit just above Wednesday at the foot of the table and victory is vital for the Owls. Six successive defeats puts us in real danger of being cut adrift in the relegation zone and with another ‘six-pointer’ at Barnsley next Saturday, anything but a win tomorrow will put a further question mark over our Championship survival and the future of Jones at S6.

* Mark Beevers has completed his move to Millwall for a for a fee believed to be around £250,000, plus possible add-ons.
