Boss demands three points from season finale

We go into Wednesday evening’s season finale at home to Neil Warnock’s Middlesbrough with Garry Monk demanding three points.

Defeat at Fulham today left us in 16th place on 56 points, eight clear of the relegation places but with the long-running threat of an EFL points deduction still hanging over us as we prepare for the last game of the campaign.

Following the Fulham reverse, Monk was highly critical of our defending and added: “I’ve said to the players at the end that we have to finish the season with three points, nothing less is acceptable.

“I’ve seen enough now to judge it, a large quantity of this squad can do it, get to that consistency but we need new personnel in to help do it.

“I know what is needed but before that I want a win next week at home and to finish with three points.”
