Fernando Forestieri could be rested for Tuesday evening’s trip to Millwall.
Forestieri has started the last two games after a lengthy lay-off and Steve Bruce has hinted he may leave him out of the starting line-up.
Not surprisingly, the striker has looked off the pace in both matches and Bruce, talking about managing the squad when playing three games in a week, said: “It’s always the difficult one when you’re dealing with people who haven’t played for a long time.
“Fernando has now played back-to-back games for the first time since last November, I believe – that’s a long time in football so I’ll see how he is in his recovery and have a chat with him.”
Jordan Thorniley is expected to continue in the middle of the defence as Tom Lees recovers from the shin injury that kept him out of the side against Reading at the weekend.
