Barry Bannan is ready to slot back into the Wednesday midfield for Saturday’s home Championship clash with fourth-placed Swansea.
Bannan’s creativity was badly missed in last weekend’s defeat at Blackburn after he suffered a groin injury in training but Garry Monk says he will be available for the Swansea test, with the Wednesday manager ready to face another of his former clubs.
While Bannan is fit to return, Monk says fellow midfielder Massimo Luongo continues to struggle with a knee injury suffered against Stoke last month and is unlikely to be in the squad against Swansea.
Seventh-placed Wednesday go into the game knowing that three points could take us back into the play-off places and Monk will be looking for a victory before going into the latest international break.
