Barry Bannan could make a return to action for the under-23s against Burnley on Monday,
Bannan has been sidelined since last December but has been back in training in recent weeks and Jos Luhukay said after Saturday’s draw with Bolton that the midfielder might be involved against the Burnley youngsters.
Sam Hutchinson and Joost van Aken both played for the under-23s against Crewe last week as they recover from injury and they could also figure against the young Clarets.
Luhukay added that Almen Abdi, who has been included in recent first team squads after several injuries since joining Wednesday, missed the Bolton game because of an eye problem.
