Wednesday youngster Ash Baker made his debut for the Welsh under-21s as they beat Liechtenstein 2-1 in their Euro Championship qualifier at Bangor on Friday evening.
Baker, who has impressed when selected at right back for the Owls this season, played the full 90 minutes in more of a defensive midfield role and went close to marking the debut with a goal when his long-range effort hit a post.
He could be in action again on Tuesday evening when the Welsh are back at Bangor to entertain Portugal.
