Jay Bothroyd is to return to QPR after a largely unsuccessful three-month loan spell at Hillsborough.
Dave Jones confirmed today that the struggling West London club had requested Bothroyd’s return.
That will be a relief to many Wednesday fans who became increasingly frustrated by Bothroyd’s languid style of play.
His arrival at S6 coincided with the start of our depressing run of form from September onwards, a sequence which only ended following Bothroyd being sidelined with injury after the heavy home defeat to Watford.
Jones, who knew the player best from their days together at Cardiff, said: “Certainly, the people here didn’t see the best of him by a long way. I’m sure Jay would agree with that.”
