Two goals from Chris O’Grady and another Jermaine Johnson solo effort inside the first 48 minutes saw Wednesday to a 3-1 win at Scunthorpe on Tuesday evening. And victory takes us back to joint second place in the promotion chase. O’Grady scored after 47 seconds and 18 minutes and JJ struck his second goal in […]
Wednesday will have to wait on defensive pair Reda Johnson and Rob Jones as they prepare for Tuesday’s important trip to Scunthorpe. Johnson was substituted at half-time in Saturday’s draw with Hartlepool after suffering a back injury while Jones limped off during the second half with an ankle problem. Gary Megson will also have to decide […]
Gary Megson rued missed chances as Wednesday lost more ground in the promotion chase after suffering another late sucker punch at Hillsborough on Saturday. Gary Megson issued a rallying call to his players after the disappointment of defeat against Charlton. The 1-0 reverse leaves us back in fourth place and eight points behind Charlton but Megson said afterwards: “We have two choices now. We either let this result get to us or we pick ourselves up, dust ourselves down and […]
Gary Megson has scotched rumours that the Owls are about to bid £800,000-plus for Ben Marshall. Marshall made his final loan appearance against Charlton on Saturday, before being substituted, and Megson indicated afterwards that if Marshall is to return to S6 then it is likely to be on loan.
Wednesday slipped to fourth place after going down to a single goal defeat at home to leaders Charlton. After a decent start, we fell behind to a Johnnie Jackson free kick and rarely looked like retrieving the situation. Gary Madine had a 12-yarder controversially disallowed for offside just before the break and we saw a […]
